On Monday, at approximately 12:30 p.m. emergency services were dispatched to a head-on collision on Highway 92 and L Avenue outside of Grandview. It was found that a 2006 Toyota Rav4 attempted to pass a semi and struck a 2011 Chevy Silverado.

As a result of the incident, three fatalities occurred and two individuals were injured and are in critical condition. The identities of those involved have been withheld until the family of the deceased are notified. The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol Technical Collision Investigation Unit.

Agencies assisting in the incident were the Columbus Junction Fire Department, Columbus Junction Police Department, Grandview Fire Department, Iowa DOT, Louisa County Ambulance, Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, University of Iowa AirCare, Wapello Fire & Rescue, and the Wapello Ambulance Service.
