The Washington Demons capped off the girls’ soccer regular season with a 2-0 victory over the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks Thursday at Washington Wellness Park. After a scoreless first half, freshman Angeline Anderson put in both goals for Washington. Demon freshman Aleigha Medley faced four shots by Mid-Prairie but stopped them all for her fourth shutout of the season.
While the Golden Hawks fell to 9-6, Washington is 10-5 as the regular season draws to a close. After having no prior winning records in program history, it’s the second straight season with double-digit wins for the Demons. Washington is off until Wednesday, when the Demons will host Mediapolis in the Class 1A Region 4 quarterfinals, a game you can hear on KCII.
