The cities of Wellman and Kalona are collaborating with locally-based Storyline Multimedia to create a video highlighting their military experience. On Friday, May 19 and Saturday, May 20, they are looking for area veterans interested in sharing their service stories.

Veterans who volunteer will be filmed answering a list of questions submitted by area residents and students. These will be edited and compiled into a 20-minute video set to debut in Richmond on July 3, and again in Wellman on July 4 prior to the annual fireworks show.

Interview sessions will be conducted tomorrow and Saturday in “The Loft” at the Kalona Community Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Each session is anticipated to last 45 minutes. Veterans, or family members that have military photos or artifacts that they would like included in the video are asked to bring them in as well. Upon completion of the project, each Veteran who participates, along with their family will be presented a copy of their individual interview and the full video.
