The golf season came to a close for the Keota Eagles after they finished fifth as a team at a Class 1A district tournament Monday at Crestwood Hills Country Club in Anita. Keota’s score of 339 strokes was 14 more than second-place CAM, which would have allowed the Eagles to qualify for the state championships.

Junior Sawyer Stout came the closest to moving on to state individually for Keota, shooting the eighth-best round of the day with a six-over-par 78. Sophomore Billie Kindred and senior Aidan Anderson each shot 88, while senior Carsin Kindred finished with a 91.

The Eagles end the season having won a second straight team championship at sectionals and eight total meet victories. Keota will be graduating Anderson and Kindred as well as fellow senior Caden Sprouse.
