The Washington City Council approved the Platte River Displays July 4th Fireworks Show request, with one adjustment. The budget that the City had set was $9,000. The total that came in for approval was $9,600. City Administrator Deanna McCusker made this suggestion, “So do you want me to go ask him if he could cut the six hundred because next year, he hasn’t raised his prices in quite a few years, and now he raised them to ninety-six, so it’s going to be ninety-six for you know I don’t know how many other years.” The motion was to approve the fireworks display with a budget of $9,000 and was passed unanimously by the council.
