The listening area’s girl’s golf teams are heading to State Championships today and tomorrow.
The Washington Demon Girls compete in the class 3A tournament today at Pheasant Ridge in Cedar Falls. Washington qualified for state as a team with their regional final championship in Oskaloosa last week. This is the tenth year in a row that Washington has qualified as a team.
The Mid Prairie girl’s golf team qualified for the 2A tournament as a team with their regional final championship last week at Williamsburg. The Golden Hawks advanced with a school record of 367. This is their second year in a row qualifying for State as a team.
Highland is sending junior Kelsi Cerny to the class 1A State Championships at Cedar Pointe in Boone. Cerny qualified for State, shooting a 92, her best 18-hole score this year at the 1A regional final in Wapello last week.
