Friday night, the Hillcrest Academy Raven softball team suffered their first setback of 2023, 12-2 in five innings at the hands of the Louisa-Muscatine Falcons in Letts. L-M scored once in each of the first two innings to jump out to a 2-0 advantage. They scored four times in the third to open a 6-0 lead. The Ravens got two runs back in their half of the fourth to pull within 6-2, on a Kylee Statler RBI single that scored Malia Yoder and Delaney Shaw. The Falcons ended things early with five in the bottom half and one more in the fifth. Hillcrest finished with three total hits, all singles, led by Statler’s run scoring knock. Yoder went four and two thirds in the circle, striking out six. The Ravens are now 1-1 on the year as they face Pekin tonight.
