It was a tough night at the office Thursday for the Hillcrest Academy Raven softball team as they dropped a Southeast Iowa Superconference matchup at Wapello 13-1 in three frames. Hillcrest got out to a quick start, posting a run in their first at-bat. Malia Yoder was hit by a pitch and Kylee Statler drove her in with an RBI single to make it 1-0 Ravens. From there, the Wapello bats came to life, and they didn’t stop. The Arrows scored two in the home half, five in the second and six more in the third to end the contest early. Wapello finished with seven hits and took advantage of 13 walks issued by Raven pitching. Hillcrest is 3-2 on the year, the Arrows stand at 5-3. Hillcrest will next compete Monday when they host Mediapolis.
