The Washington Demon baseball team will look to finish off a conference series victory when they host Fort Madison tonight in a game you can hear on KCII. Since winning their first two Southeast Conference games of the season against Mount Pleasant, Washington has dropped four of the next five total games to fall to 3-2 in league play and 3-7 overall.

Senior shortstop Ethan Patterson has a team-high .320 batting average and six runs batted in, while junior second baseman Luke Beenblossom is tied for the team lead with 7 RBI and leads the Demons with nine hits.

Washington pitching has struggled since senior Isaac Vetter went five innings and gave up just one hit in a win over Mount Pleasant last week. That includes both of the first two games against Fort Madison early this week, as the Demons needed a late rally to win game one 6-5 and fell 9-5 in the second matchup. The Bloodhounds come with a 2-3 conference record and a mark of 4-6 overall.

While Washington snapped a six-game losing streak in the rivalry with Fort Madison by getting that one win Monday, the Demons now want wrap up a series win against the Bloodhounds.
