The Hillcrest Academy Raven baseball team traveled to Riverside Tuesday for a Southeast Iowa Superconference contest against the Huskies. The Ravens scored a 10-4 win to remain perfect on the year. Hillcrest was strong at the plate early and late with single runs in the first and second and a four spot in the third to build an early 6-0 advantage. The Huskies got two in the fifth to climb within 6-2, but would get no closer the rest of the night. Hillcrest answered with three more in the sixth and one in the seventh to pull away. The Ravens had nine hits, including three doubles and a Luke Schrock homer. They also collected six walks, were hit by pitches four times, and the Huskies committed four errors.
Schrock was two for four in total on the night with a homer, double and two runs scored. Grant Bender and Phoenix Anderson each drove in a pair with Bender scoring twice. Josiah Beachy added an RBI on two hits. Schrock tossed the complete game on the mound, giving up three hits, two earned runs and striking out 10. With the win the Ravens moved to 7-0, Highland was 4-5.
