Single contests await the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball and softball teams Thursday as they get back to the River Valley Conference portion of their schedule with home games against the Wilton Beavers. The Golden Hawk softball team is 7-6 this year, 5-2 in the River Valley, after dropping a 10-3 decision Wednesday to West Burlington in Kalona. The Golden Hawks are hitting .403 as a team with 98 runs on 121 hits. Sophie Miller is hitting .553 with a team best 21 hits and 16 runs scored. Syndey Knebel leads the Hawks with 17 runs driven in. The Mid-Prairie pitching staff has thrown 67 innings with a 3.34 ERA and .246 opponent batting average, giving up 68 hits, 32 earned runs, 25 walks and striking out 61. Knebel leads the way with 42 innings and a 2.50 ERA.

Wilton is 12-4 overall this season and 7-3 in the River Valley Conference after splitting a doubleheader against West Liberty Wednesday with an 11-4 win and 11-10 loss. The Beavers are ranked No. 4 in Class 2A according to the latest poll from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. They are hitting .330 as a team with 121 runs on 153 hits. Kaylee Coss has a team best .426 average and 16 RBI. Taylor Drayfahl has 24 hits and has scored 20 times to lead the Beavers. In the circle, Wilton has a 3.23 ERA in 104 innings with a .258 opponent average against, giving up 109 hits, 48 earned runs, 30 walks and 101 strikeouts. Charlotte Brown is 7-4 with a 2.94 ERA. The Beavers swept a doubleheader from the Golden Hawks Monday by 4-2 and 11-6 scores, giving them seven straight wins in the series.

The Mid-Prairie boys are 11-3 this season, a perfect 7-0 in the RVC. The Hawks had their nine game winning streak broken Tuesday in a 7-6 loss at Solon. The Hawks are hitting .290 as a team this year with 85 runs on 106 hits. Karson Grout has a team high 20 hits, 16 runs scored and .426 average. Alex Bean leads the way with 14 runs driven in. The Golden Hawks have a 2.32 team ERA in 97 innings with a .209 opponent average, giving up 77 hits, 32 earned runs 41 walks and 120 strikeouts. Brock Harland and Colin Miller are 3-0 this season with 0.45 and 1.93 ERAs respectively. Brady Weber, Joe Hall, Cain Brown and Landry Gingerich have worked a total of 19 innings without allowing an earned run.

Wilton is 5-11 this season, 1-10 in the River Valley after an 11-0 loss to West Liberty last time out. The Beavers are hitting .213 with 45 runs on 74 hits. Cade Sourhada has a team best .317 average on 13 hits with nine RBI. The Wilton staff has a 4.93 ERA in 94 innings with a .212 opponent average, giving up 100 hits, 66 earned runs, 65 walks and 113 strikeouts. Landyn Putman is 2-2 this year with a 2.47 ERA. The Hawks swept the Beavers in a Monday doubleheader on the road 8-1 and 11-1. Action in both contests gets underway tonight at 7p.m.
