The Highland Huskies earned an extra-innings softball victory by knocking off Holy Trinity Catholic 4-3 Wednesday. The Huskies had the game’s only run until the Crusaders tied the game in the fourth. Both team scored twice in the seventh to force the game into extras, but Highland got what proved to be the winning run in the eighth.
Husky junior Peyton Brun led the team with three hits, including a triple. Starting junior pitcher Grace Prybil gave up seven hits and three walks in six innings, while senior Jessica Kraus was perfect over the final two innings pitched to earn the victory and push Highland to a fourth straight win and a record of 6-4.
Husky baseball did not add a win as well, taking a 12-1 tumble in five innings Wednesday night at Burlington Notre Dame. Senior Ethan Paisley had a three-hit night and drove in the only run for Highland, which falls to 4-6.
