The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk softball team took care of business Tuesday, taking down River Valley Conference rival Tipton 12-1 in five innings. The Golden Hawks scored in four of the five frames played, posting one run in the first, five spots in the second and fourth innings and one more in the fifth. The Golden Hawks pounded out 19 hits, all nine starters had at least one, seven of the nine had multi-hit nights. Eight of the nine scored runs and six starters drove in at least one. Dakota Mitchell, Sophie Miller, and Sydney Knebel each had three hits, Mitchell drove in a game high three. Miller scored three times, Brenna Jehle, Olivia Swartzentruber, and Morgyn Bender each crossed home plate twice. Knebel spun the win in the circle, working five frames, giving up just two hits, one earned run and striking out five.
