It’s a Southeast Iowa Superconference road trip for the Hillcrest Academy baseball and softball teams Thursday against the Pekin Panthers. The Raven baseball team is 11-2 on the year, unbeaten at 7-0 within the Superconference after a 10-6 win over West Burlington Wednesday in Kalona. Hillcrest is hitting .355 as a team with 142 runs on 120 hits. Luke Schrock has a .564 average on 22 hits with 25 runs scored, all team bests. Jace Rempel has a team high 20 driven in. The Hillcrest team ERA is 2.36 in 74 innings with a .208 opponent average on 57 hits, 25 earned runs, 25 walks and 84 strikeouts. Schrock, Rowan Miller and Seth Ours are unbeaten at 6-0 in 34 innings with an ERA under 0.50.

Pekin is 4-11 this year, just 4-5 in league play after a 14-3 loss to Highland Tuesday. The Panthers are .295 at the plate with 102 runs on 121 hits. Deklan Hampton is their leader with a .412 average on 21 hits with 15 runs scored. Will Adam has a team best 14 RBI. Panther pitchers have a 7.99 ERA in 92 innings with an opponent average of .249 on 135 hits, 105 earned runs, 75 walks and 96 strikeouts. Ben Ehret is 1-1 in 12 frames with a 4.54 ERA. Hillcrest handled the Panthers 17-2 in Kalona in May.

The Raven girls are 4-11 this year, 2-8 in conference after an 18-0 loss to West Burlington Wednesday. This year, the Ravens are hitting .287 with 54 runs on 64 hits. Delaney Shaw stands at a team best .417 at the plate, she and Morgyn Nafziger both have 10 hits, Malia Yoder has scored 14 times and Kylee Statler has 14 RBI. In the circle, Hillcrest has a team ERA of 8.43 in 54 innings, giving up a .209 opponent average, 75 hits, 65 earned runs, 69 walks and 67 strikeouts. Yoder has 52 innings of work with a 7.86 ERA.

The Pekin girls are winless at 0-13 overall and 0-9 in the Superconference. They fell to Highland Tuesday 14-4. The Panthers are hitting .225 with 56 runs on 71 hits. Myah Bainbridge has a .333 average with 11 hits, Payten Coleman a team high nine runs scored, and Quinnlynn Baker a team best eight RBI. In the circle, the Panther ERA is 14.61 in 61 innings with an opponent average of .309 on 135 hits, 128 earned runs, 86 walks and 24 strikeouts. Ezra Parson has worked 44 innings with a 17.34. The Ravens were a winner in this matchup 13-6 in May. Action starts in both games at 5:30 tonight in Packwood.
