The Lone Tree Lions used one huge inning to knock off the Winfield-Mount Union Wolves 17-3 in softball last night. Lone Tree was already up 3-1 when the Lions’ lineup went nuts, scoring 14 runs in the second inning and going on to win in three frames.

Lone Tree is now 6-8 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North and 9-13 overall. The Lions take on Highland tonight in both baseball and softball. WMU drops to 3-12 in conference play and 4-14 overall. Both Wolves teams face Louisa-Muscatine this evening.
