Earlier this month, the Muscatine County Sheriff’s Office as well as the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office announced they were searching for 39-year-old Bud Leroy Kauffman. On Friday, June 23, the Muscatine County Sheriff’s Office announced that Kauffman, who was wanted in both counties, had been taken into custody.

Muscatine County Deputies surrounded a mobile home in Muscatine County Friday. With the assistance of Muscatine Police Department personnel, law enforcement announced their presence and commanded Kauffman to exit the home. He refused for approximately two hours, before eventually making his way out of the residence.

Kauffman was taken into custody and brought to the Muscatine County Jail. He is being held on a $10,000 cash bond on charges of felony eluding and driving while barred. A detainer has been placed by Louisa County for warrants pertaining to parole violation and possession of a controlled substance with an $8,250 cash bond.

KCII will have more information as it becomes official.
