The Highland Huskies concluded the softball regular season by defeating the Columbus Wildcats 8-3 last night. Highland scored three runs in the first inning and two in the second and never looked back, finishing conference play with an 11-3 record and improving to 16-10 overall.

Columbus wraps up action in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North at 9-5 and is 11-8 overall. While the Wildcats are off until next Thursday night, the Huskies will begin the postseason Friday evening by hosting Lone Tree in the Class 1A Region 8 playoffs.
