The City of Wellman will be celebrating the Fourth of July with a full day of festivities at three different locations around town Tuesday.

Beginning at 7 a.m. the Wellman-Parkside YMCA is sponsoring a yoga class at the bandshell, followed by a spin class at the Activity Center. Pre-registration for both is recommended. From 1-4 p.m., they are hosting a Dino-Venture including dinosaur exhibits and activities, sponsored by the Wellman-Scofield Library. Also starting at 1 p.m. is a continuous showing of the Local Veteran’s Documentary, produced by Storyline Multimedia. The video is also scheduled to run prior to the Richmond fireworks on July 3.

Downtown activities include the Kiddie Parade at 9:30 a.m. and the Main Parade at 10. Freeman Foods will be grilling ribeye steak sandwiches and rib-on-a-stick during and after the parade, and the Heritage Museum opens to the public at 11 a.m.

North Park activities commence immediately after the parade, and include the Kids Pedal Pull at the tennis court. Additional North Park festivities include inflatables, barrel rides, pony rides, face painting, and food vendors from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bingo will be held at the main shelter from noon to 6 p.m. and a horseshoe tournament begins at 1 p.m. Heather Trimpe, President of the Wellman Community Club, hopes for a great turnout. “Most of the activities at North Park are free, so come on, spend the day with us. We’re looking forward to having all of you there.

The Old Man Band will wind down the evening with a performance from 6 p.m. to dusk, at which time guests can enjoy the fireworks display.
