Washington County 4-H’ers will participate in Communications Night on Tuesday, July 11, in Dallmeyer Hall at the fairgrounds. All Washington County 4-H’ers are eligible to participate in educational presentations at this event, while senior-aged 4-H’ers may also participate in Extemporaneous Speaking. These project areas are one of many that help develop 4-H’ers communication skills by preparing a message, creating visuals, and then delivering the presentation to an audience. Communications Night is open to the public to come and listen, learn about a wide variety of topics, and applaud the youth of our communities and their communication goals. Schedules are made and sent to 4-Hers after July 1; however, the public is welcome to come and enjoy from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. on July 11. Note the date has been updated from prior years. Communication Night is now held the Tuesday before the County Fair. For more information on the 4-H communication projects or how to volunteer, please contact the Washington County Extension Office at 319-653-4811.
