The Washington HyVee gave a ten thousand dollar donation to the Washington YMCA pool project on Monday. This donation comes a week before the official groundbreaking ceremony will take place for the new indoor aquatic center. KCII News was able to speak with Amy Schulte, CEO of Washington County YMCA about the ceremony, “Our official groundbreaking ceremony for our new YMCA indoor aquatic center will be held July 11th at 11am, it’s on the East side of our new YMCA on West 5th. We’ll do the ceremonial gold shovels and hard hats to break the ground, but we will have some of our contractors there as well, that will signify you know the beginning of the process of building this project for Washington County. ” The groundbreaking ceremony is open to the public.
