The Highland Huskies had their softball season end in heart-breaking fashion, suffering a 3-2 loss at Wapello last night in the Class 1A Region 8 quarterfinals. Highland held a 2-0 lead going into the final inning, but not only did Wapello finally end the shutout in the seventh, but junior Tatum Wolford’s third hit of the night drove in both the tying and winning runs to give the Arrows the walk-off victory.

Highland finishes the season with a record of 18-11. The Huskies will be saying goodbye to seniors MyLei Smith, Abbi Stransky, Jessica Kraus and Jenna and Katelyn Waters.
