On Friday, July 14, the West Fork Farmstead in West Chester is set to host a field day, titled “Shifting to Regenerative While Transitioning Generations.” The field day is in coordination with Practical Farmers of Iowa.

Natasha Wilson, Co-owner of West Fork Farmstead, runs the operation with her parents, Brian and Nancy. While the family has owned the land for four generations, West Fork Farmstead is in just its fourth year, offering grass-fed beef, heritage pork, pasture chickens, chicken and duck eggs, and raw honey.

Wilson spoke with KCII about what guests can expect at the field day Friday. “We’re plan to talk both about our farm transition, and then also the shift in our farming practices towards more regenerative and conservation-focused. We plan to share about our story, give a tour of the farm, and we’re gonna have lunch. We’re planning to serve some of our pork and make pulled-pork for lunch.”

The event is free to attend, and Wilson recommends that guests wear clean clothing and shoes to ensure the safety of their animals. Anyone who plans to attend is asked to RSVP in advance.
