The KCII Severe Weather Action team was live on the air Wednesday for two Severe Thunderstorm Warnings issued in Washington County and southeast Iowa. Just after 8 am, the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the Northwest portion of Washington, Northern Keokuk, Iowa, and Johnson Counties until 9 am. Another Severe Thunderstorm Warning was then issued for Northeast Washington, Southern Johnson, and Northwest Louisa Counties until 9:30 a.m. The threats with these storms were strong winds, possible hail, and torrential rainfall. Wind gusts up to 45 mph were documented in Hills. A total of 1.25” of rain fell in Wellman, Kalona, and Riverside. With 1” of rain falling in Hills, Lone Tree, and Nichols.  Four members of the KCII Severe Weather Action Team provided live coverage on the air.
