KCII News spoke with U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley about the 2023 NATO summit that took place last week and what the focus of the summit will be this year, “The really big issue this time is for the first time Finland and Sweden, who have always been neutral, joined NATO because of Russia invading Ukraine. So then the second thing about this conference is how are we going to continue to help Ukraine and keep Russia and Putin from taking over Ukraine. And there’s no doubt about what his motives are because going back to speeches in 2008 and 2013; he gave these speeches that his goal was, for him as leader of Russia, was to reestablish the old Soviet Union.”  The 2023 NATO summit took place from July 11–12  in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.
