Since 1985, the Kalona Chamber of Commerce has attended the Iowa State Fair in an effort to promote the City, as well as some of their local businesses. This year, they are seeking volunteers to help with this endeavor.

The 2023 Iowa State Fair will be held in Des Moines from August 10-20, and volunteers are needed every day. Those who volunteer can sign up for a shift from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or 1:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. While the Chamber hopes to have at least four volunteers for each shift, they will take as many as five.

Volunteers will help customers and assist with the bagging and checking out of items purchased from their vendors. Their booth will be set up inside the Varied Industries Building on the Fairgrounds, equipped with air conditioning and easily accessible restrooms.
