The Washington County Board of Supervisors accepted an appointment to the Eminent Domain Commission at their meeting on Tuesday. Washington County Auditor Dan Widmer made the announcement, ”The individual is Edgar McGuire, and he will be a representative of the City or town properties.” Generally, eminent domain is the government’s power to take private property for public benefit. It comes from the US Constitution, federal laws, state constitutions, and state laws.
