It was a historic season on the links for the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls golf program and head coach Tracy McArtor has been recognized as Region Four Coach of the Year by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association for his work as it’s architect.

The Hawks shot a season average of 203 per nine holes and 382 for 18. Their low nine hole score was 182. The low 18 hole score was a 367 at the regional final in Williamsburg that won the Hawks the team championship and clinched their bid to state. The Golden Hawks won the River Valley Conference Championship at the Muscatine Municipal Golf Course by a single stroke over Dyersville-Beckman, their first league title since 2018, landing all six varsity players on All-RVC teams in the process. Mid-Prairie advanced through the opening round of regionals as team champs, firing a then school record 374 to win the title. The regional final saw another team title and school record as the Hawks shot 367 to wrap up a state berth.  The trip to state was the second consecutive for the Golden Hawks, and the first time the program had accomplished the feat since the 2009 and 2010 seasons. Once in Marshalltown for the 2A tourney, Mid-Prairie finished seventh with their score of 751. Golden Hawk seniors Kylie Reinier and Alexa Huber were named Academic All-State while Reinier and junior Gabi Robertson were named to the All-Region Four team.

McArtor also won the award in 2014. The Golden Hawks ended the year with 41-12 overall record.
