Golden Hawk stand-out shortstop Dakota Mitchell was named to the Class 3A All-District team this week by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association.

The sensational sophomore was sixth in the River Valley Conference with a .439 average. Her .519OBP was fifth in the RVC, her 50 hits were sixth in conference with 13 for extra bases including two homers. She scored 32 times, eighth most in the league and drove in 22 to go with 17 walks. She was also a first team all RVC pick. Mitchell is one of just 64 players in Class 3A from around the state to receive All-District honors.

Mid-Prairie finished the season with a 16-21 overall record.
