Last Friday, at approximately 7:24 p.m. the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was called to assist the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office during a pursuit, after stop sticks were requested on Highway 218 near exit 70. 

According to an affidavit, the driver, later identified as 56-year-old Amy Summers, refused to stop for officers in Hills. She eluded law enforcement for over 10 miles before stop sticks ended the pursuit. Summers was arrested and charged with eluding, second or subsequent offense, an aggravated misdemeanor, eluding, a serious misdemeanor, and operating while under the influence first offense, a serious misdemeanor.
