Another rising star for Winfield-Mount Union will be playing big-time college football after his career with the Wolves is done, plus quite a bit more. WMU senior Abram Edwards has signed his letter of intent to attend the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York, where he will also play football for the Army Black Knights.

Edwards has been a force for Winfield-Mount Union on both sides of the ball. Edwards piled up team highs of 13 tackles for loss and six-and-a-half sacks during his junior season and has career defensive totals of 25 tackles for loss and 13 sacks.
On offense, Edwards ran for 339 yards and had another 392 yards receiving on his way to 13 total touchdowns last season. Edwards has played a variety of offensive positions for the Wolves, including quarterback, during his career, resulting in accounting for over 1,700 total yards and 25 TDs.
Edwards becomes the second player on the WMU roster to commit to playing at an NCAA Division I program, joining teammate Cam Buffington after his commitment to Iowa.
