At the Washington City Council Meeting on Tuesday, there was discussion and action taken on a request from the Washington Fire Department to expand their storage building. Washington Fire Chief Brendan DeLong explains, “It’s all funded through donations and Firemen’s Association money, so. We’re looking to put in here our future foam trailer; we have a new boat that we received, we have the dive trailer with that equipment that we are going to put inside there to make room for the new pickup in the station.” The Council approved the expansion request. The expansion will be added to their current storage building with an addition of 22ftx24ft. Construction will begin immediately with hopes of completion before winter.
