On Tuesday, August 22, Washington County Emergency Management will be escorting a consultant with Safer Services Corp throughout the county to complete an evaluation of the Outdoor Warning Siren system. They are working to ensure that as our communities grow, they have appropriate coverage with the sirens; this is the first step in expanding the footprint of the siren warning areas. This evaluation will include acoustical profiling to gauge the current coverage of existing sirens;  Sirens in communities around the county may be tested throughout the day. This may include full 3-minute activation in order to collect accurate, complete data. At this time, severe weather is not in the forecast for Washington County on Tuesday, so there are no concerns that siren activation would be necessary.
