heat-2

High temps and humidity are still affecting portions of the KCII listening area. The National Weather Service of the Quad Cities has issued an excessive heat warning that includes Henry and Jefferson Counties and is in effect until 8 p.m. Friday.

Heat index values between 105 and 110 are possible in these areas through tonight. Anyone exposed to this heat has an increased potential for heat related illnesses, including heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Drink plenty of fluids, wear loose fitting clothing, and take frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments.

The one to count on for up-to-the-minute severe weather coverage is AM and FM KCII.
