At approximately 1:24 pm on Tuesday, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a subject sleeping in a residential ditch in Riverside. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested 52-year-old Brian Johnson of Washington after he was seen walking away from the residence and towards Highway 218. The officer recognized Johnson from previous incidents and knew that he had a warrant for violation of probation on the original charge of third-degree burglary, a Class D Felony. During the arrest, Johnson struggled with the deputy and kicked the deputy multiple times, then later in the patrol vehicle made threats towards the deputy. Johnson is being charged with assault on persons in certain occupations, first-degree harassment, both aggravated misdemeanors, and interference with official acts causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor. Johnson is being held in the Washington County Jail on a bond of $12,000 for the violation of probation charge.
