A pair of area football teams found themselves on opposite ends of the final score Friday night. The Highland Huskies lost a 28-22 thriller to Van Buren County, as Highland was driving down field in the final minutes for the tying score but failed to find the end zone. The Huskies fall to 0-3 and next play Lisbon this Friday night

Lone Tree was able to jump out to a 22-8 lead after a quarter of play against previously unbeaten Midland. The Lions were still in front by 12 by halftime and continued to match the Eagles’ every attempt to get back in the game. Lone Tree went on to win 49-30, improving to 2-1.
