Black and gold flooded the town of Wellman Wednesday night, as the Mid-Prairie Community School District continued its Homecoming celebration.

New to the festivities this year was the first annual Homecoming Parade, featuring the Mid-Prairie Marching Band, fall athletes, and the homecoming court. The fun continued onto the high school football field, where Golden Hawk freshman through seniors participated in powderpuff and kick ball. Powderpuff football champions were the sophomores, and the victor in kickball was the senior class. 

As the sun went down, it was time for fall activity announcements and the coronation. The 2023 Mid-Prairie Homecoming Queen is Greta Sieren, while Parker Ehrenfelt is this year’s Homecoming King. Other members of the court include Kali Miller, Behla Schmidt, Avery Slaubaugh, Jack Greiner, Joe Hall, and Carson Pence.

Mid-Prairie’s football team takes the field on Friday, as they welcome West Burlington Notre Dame. JV plays at 5 p.m. and varsity begins at 7:30. The 2023 Homecoming Dance concludes the celebration on Saturday night at the High School.
