On Saturday, Sept. 23, Iowa state parks will host Statewide Volunteer Day and they are inviting the public to lend a hand. Nearly 20 parks and forests will be hosting events that include picking up litter, painting shelters, working on trails, and more. Lake Darling State Park in Brighton will be staining Cottonwood Shelter benches beginning at 9am. You can RSVP attendance in advance by calling the park office at (319) 694-2323.
