Homecoming activities in southeast Iowa are in full force as the Lone Tree Lions hold their annual celebration, starting tomorrow.

Lone Tree’s 2023 Homecoming Kick Off begins at 5 p.m. on Sunday at the school parking lot. Hosted by the Lone Tree Athletic Boosters, the evening will include tailgating games, chalk the walk, food, music, and raffle prizes. The dance team performs at 6 p.m. and will be followed by fall sports team introductions. The Homecoming Kick Off is free to attend, but free-will donations are accepted.

When students and staff return to school on Monday, they can participate in PJ Day along with window, yard sign, and hallway decorating. Lone Tree’s 2023 Homecoming Court will be announced on Monday morning. Tuesday is Jersey Day, with powder puff football that night. Wednesday is Barbie Day, followed by Rhyme without a Reason on Thursday. Class skits will be performed Thursday night. Friday is Spirit Day and includes the pep assembly at 1:50 p.m. and parade at 3. Football kicks off at 7 p.m. as the Lions host Edgewood-Colesburg.

The Homecoming dance will be held on Saturday at the school’s north gym.
