Residents of the City of Washington will have a chance to get rid of unwanted items during the city’s fall clean-up event this month. The clean-up event will run similarly to last year, where residents can drop off items at a central site located at 1065 West Buchanan St. It will be held October 21st from 7 to 11 a.m. General junk contained in boxes and bulky furniture items and will be accepted at no cost. Appliances will have a $5 fee, and TVs and computer monitors will have a $15 fee. Household hazardous waste won’t be accepted; neither will tires, construction materials, waste oil, or latex paint. Stickers for items can be purchased at City Hall. The City will assist with special pickups of appliances or TVs for those unable to bring them to the site for an additional $5 fee per item.
