At their latest School Board Meeting on Monday, Mid-Prairie Superintendent Brian Stone, provided updates on the construction projects at East Elementary and the Middle School.
“All three Middle School additions are currently running in-line with one another. Exterior windows for all three additions are slated for installation tomorrow. Elementary additions, the roofing for both additions is substantially complete and the additions are water-tight from above which is huge news. The goal was to have these additions weather-tight by November 6, and currently the project is on track to beat this date by four weeks. So we have been very fortunate.”
Six new classrooms are being built at the Middle School including one for family and consumer science, STEM, fifth grade, seventh-grade, and eighth grade. New classrooms at East Elementary will be utilized for kindergarten, first grade, second grade, music, and Spanish.
Stone also commended those who attended the Facilities Meeting on September 13. As the Mid-Prairie Community School District continues to plan for future improvements, the next Facilities Meeting is scheduled for October 18.
