Michelle Gardner of Kalona is the EMT Program Coordinator at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics, a teacher, paramedic, and volunteer. Recently, Gardner added another title to the list as she was named the 2023 National Elite Miss United States Agriculture.

The Miss United States Agriculture Pageant was held in Enterprise, Alabama, and featured over 120 families from across the country showcasing the vital role of agriculture in their state. Contestants of all ages compete for scholarship awards in multiple events, including Self Introduction, Formalwear, State Fun Fashion, Photogenic, and Personal Interview.

The program aims to foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages personal growth and empowers women, while also promoting agricultural education and raising awareness on important ag issues. Gardner’s signature topics included Family Farm Safety, Skin Cancer Awareness in Ag, EMS Education, and Miniature Zebus.
