The Enhance Henry County Community Foundation is set to receive a state award totaling $158,914.

This award comes from the County Endowment Fund, which was established by House File 2302 in 2004. Its purpose is to provide financial support to encourage the creation and development of community foundations and civic philanthropy in Iowa.

Under terms of the legislation, the Enhance Henry County Community Foundation will direct 75 percent of the award to grant-making activities, while 25 percent is placed in the Foundation’s permanent endowment, which is currently $636,603. This allows for opportunities to assist local projects immediately, as well as for future endeavors in the county.

Since 2004, the Enhance Henry County Community Foundation has awarded more than $1.7 million in grants to over 60 county organizations and charities. These awards have also leveraged over $12 million in new projects for Henry County.

To request an application, or with any questions related to contributions, gifts, and grant-making, contact the Foundation’s Administrator, Lora Roth at lora@kilj.com or by calling 319-385-8728.
