The next chapter of the volleyball rivalry between Lone Tree and Hillcrest Academy will be written tonight on the court at the Tree House. The Lady Lions come in with an overall record of 3-17, 1-6 in conference play, after a four set loss to Highland Monday. The Lions have piled up 666 digs, 237 kills, 196 assists, 105 aces and 57 blocks this year. Lone Tree leaders include senior Hogan Eden with 165 digs, junior Hayden Yoder with 111 assists and 18 aces, and junior Cate Sexton with 52 kills and 24 blocks.
Hillcrest Academy is 7-11 this season. They swept Cedar Valley Christian in their last match Tuesday. For the year, the Ravens have 813 digs, 401 kills, 359 assists, 124 aces and 66 blocks. Individual leaders include sophomore Claire Withrow with 348 assists, junior Malia Yoder with 231 digs and 139 kills, and junior Kylee Statler with 39 aces and 28 blocks.
Hillcrest has won 18 of the last 25 meetings, but Lone Tree swept the Ravens in 2022. Action starts tonight at 7:30p.m. at Lone Tree High School.
