The Washington Demons seem to be finding their groove on the volleyball court at just the right time. Washington swept their way through three matches Tuesday in the first round of the Southeast Conference Tournament in Fort Madison to make it five wins in a row overall.

The Demons dropped just one set Tuesday night, and it was the first one against Keokuk, 25-20. But Washington rallied to win the next two frames, 25-22 and 15-9, to take the match. The Demons then swept Mount Pleasant, 25-17 and 25-19, before also winning in straight sets over hosting Fort Madison.

The winning streak pushes Washington’s record to 11-15. The Demons will conclude the Southeast Conference Tournament on their home floor this coming Tuesday by facing Burlington and Fairfield, but before that, they’ll look to continue their winning ways when they host the annual Washington Volleyball Classic on Saturday, welcoming Hillcrest Academy, Highland, WACO, Sigourney, Tri-County and Iowa City Regina.
