The WACO Warriors will wrap up the football regular season tonight when they host district rival English Valleys. WACO comes in with a 5-1 record and is looking for a fourth straight victory since their loss to top-ranked Winfield-Mount Union, who is also already playoff bound after clinching the 8-man District 6 championship.

The Warriors have leaned on Louden Huisenga to make the big plays on offense. The running back has a team-high 730 yards from scrimmage and 15 touchdowns, while fellow junior Clayton Miller has settled in to his role as starting quarterback with 519 yards and 11 TDs through the air as well as 214 yards and four scores on the ground.

On defense, all-state senior Colton Leichty continues to wreak havoc with 12-and-a-half tackles for loss and four sacks. Sophomore Adam Stafford and senior Chase Waterhouse have also been excellent on the defensive line, combining for 11 tackles for loss.

WACO will be looking for a 10th consecutive win in their series with English Valleys, which enters this game with a 2-4 record this season and is 1-3 in district play. Bears senior quarterback Myles Grove has run for 661 yards and eight touchdowns to lead an offense that is averaging just under 200 rushing yards per game. The Warriors battle English Valleys this evening with kickoff set for 7 o’clock.
