The Columbus Wildcats closed up conference volleyball action with a straight-sets victory over Pekin last night. Columbus cruised past Pekin 25-13, 25-14 and 25-11 in their final home match of the regular season.

Wildcat outside hitter Lily Coil had another excellent all-around performance, finishing with eight kills, two serving aces, 14 digs and a blocked shot. Fellow junior Aracely Garza came up with seven kills and six digs, while sophomores Audrey Hoback and Jessica Del Rio had six kills each and combined for eight digs.

Sophomore setter Daniela Diaz dished out 29 assists in addition to two kills, an ace, 11 digs and a block, helping Columbus finish play in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North at 4-4 and improve to 8-16 overall. The Wildcats will wrap up the regular season tomorrow night at Washington.
