The Columbus Wildcats will look to close out the football regular season on a winning streak as Columbus celebrates Senior Night and Parents Night tonight by hosting Danville. Columbus has ripped off four straight victories to move their record to 5-2 overall and 5-1 in district play, locking up a playoff berth for a second consecutive season.

Columbus has been running wild on offense this season, averaging over 330 rushing yards per game and over 11 yards per carry as a team. All-state senior running back Kaden Amigon has piled up over 1,200 yards and 19 touchdowns on the ground for a second straight year, while junior Riley Kaalberg has also racked up almost 730 yards and 12 TDs.

The Wildcat defense continues to be a stingy bunch as well, allowing less than 18 points per contest. Sophomore Elliot Wessley has paired with Kaalberg to make up one of the best linebacker tandems in the area, while senior lineman Russell Coil has piled up 15 tackles for loss and sophomore Tyson Kaalberg leads the team in total tackles and has intercepted five passes.

Columbus will clash with a Danville team that is 4-3 and clinging to a playoff spot with a 4-2 record in Class A District 5. Bears junior quarterback Jaden Bauer has thrown for 960 yards and 11 scores but also leads the team in rushing with almost 540 yards and eight touchdowns. The Wildcats beat the Bears 24-6 last season and look to add another victory tonight starting with kickoff at 7.
