It has been an eventful October for the Mid-Prairie Marching Band, with several honors received over the last three weeks.

On October 7, the Golden Hawks performed at the Comet Classic Marching Band Competition in West Liberty. The group earned first place in 2A, as well as receiving the outstanding hornline award.

Later that day, at the Muskie Marching Invitational in Muscatine, it was a 2nd-place finish for Mid-Prairie. The Golden Hawk Marching Band was also awarded for outstanding drum major and outstanding drumline.

Most recently, Mid-Prairie competed at the State Marching Band Contest, where they received a Division 1 rating. This was the third-consecutive D1 rating for the school.

The busy month continues tonight, with the Stadium Echos Marching Band Show. The performance takes place on the football field, beginning at 7:15.
