The City of Columbus Junction is hosting its annual Cleanup Day on Monday, October 23 for residents within the Columbus Junction city limits. Anyone planning on participating must set their items out by 7 a.m. Monday.
Items that are prohibited from pickup this year include tires, batteries, paint, paint cans, hazardous materials, chemicals, spray cans, windows, and other glass items. Wood or building materials will not be accepted either.
Electronic waste will be picked up, but require tags. Tags are $15 for televisions, $10 for computer monitors, and $2 for printers, fax machines, VCRs, DVD players, video game consoles, servers, scanners, converter boxes, and cable receivers. Tags can be purchased at City Hall. Residents are asked to separate their items into groups, such as metals, appliances, furniture, and E-waste.
With questions, call City Hall at 319-728-7971.
