A pair of Washington Middle School cross country athletes finished their season in style, as two runners earned medals at the annual Dick Washburn State Classic last week in Ankeny. 7th-grader Jack Shepherd was seventh in his group of Class 3A boys, while Parker Tschantz was 15th among 3A 8th-grade boys. Tschantz finished the course in a time of 11 minutes 57 seconds, while Shepherd crossed the finish line in 12:07.
